These are the nominees for the Piket Art Prizes 2015
On Saturday evening, September 5th, the nominees for the Piket Art Prizes 2015 were announced during the Museum Night in The Hague. For this occasion, Panorama Mesdag was transformed into a gallery, where a special dance performance took place amidst artworks from previous nominees.

Seeing your work displayed in an actual museum is an experience that doesn't happen to many young artists. However, some of the nominees from last year had the opportunity to fill the event gallery of the Piket Art Prizes in Panorama Mesdag. Works by Inge Aanstoot (winner of painting 2014), Thomas van Rijs, and Sara Koning (nominees for painting 2014), along with the video installation ‘SLow’ by Karel van Laere (winner of dramatic arts 2014), were closely examined by invited guests and Museum Night visitors.
After the announcement of the nominees by jury chairman Rinus Sprong, Rutkay Özpinar (nominee for dance 2014) treated the audience to a beautiful, tranquil choreography created specifically for the evening. Around twenty ‘external visitors’ watched the performance via the live-stream app Periscope, as we ‘broadcasted’ the evening. Afterward, DJ Onno Paloma provided Museum Night visitors, nominees, and other attendees with a fitting tropical music mix to kick off the rest of the night.
On Wednesday, November 25th, the winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Theater Diligentia. Each winner will receive 8,000 euros and a sculpture by artist Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk.
